Playing it, from the first screen

MineFun.io is made by Vectaria and sits in a world built from blocks. Poki files it under action, block, platform, .io and multiplayer games, and all of those labels fit: you move through blocky maps, other people are in them with you, and much of the time the ground under your feet is a narrow platform with a drop on either side.

The mode most people meet first is parkour. The aim is simple to say and harder to do: get along the course by jumping, running and stepping around obstacles without falling off. There are nine maps in the game, and they differ a lot in mood. Some are islands floating over open space, one follows the classic Obby layout of a staircase of hazards, and another is set in a zombie apocalypse.

Coins earned while playing go towards skins, which change how your character looks and nothing else that the Poki page mentions. If you want to play with people you know rather than with whoever is on the server, you can open a private room and share its code; everyone who enters the code lands in the same room.

On a computer the controls are W A S D or the arrow keys to move, Space to jump and C to crouch. Poki lists the game for phones and tablets as well. It was released on Poki in September 2024 and last updated there in September 2026.

Noted on the first runs

• Before a long jump, stop at the edge of the platform for a moment. Starting a jump from a standstill at the very edge is easier to judge than jumping out of a run you have not lined up.

• Crouch with C is worth trying on the first map rather than when you need it. Knowing how far it lowers you saves a fall later on a course with low obstacles.

• Try each of the nine maps once before settling on one. The island maps, the Obby course and the zombie map ask for quite different amounts of care, and the one that suits you may not be the first on the list.

• When playing with friends, agree on a room code before anyone starts. It is quicker than trying to find each other on an open server.

• Spend coins on a skin only when you have one in mind. Skins change the look of your character, so there is no reason to buy the first one you can afford.

Who it sits well with

MineFun.io suits players who already like block worlds and want something with movement and other people in it rather than quiet building. It works well for a small group of friends who want to share a room, and for anyone who enjoys a platform course where a fall sends you back and you try the jump again.

The less good parts

• Poki shows ads around its games, and MineFun.io is no exception; expect a short ad before you start and sometimes between sessions.

• Parkour can be unforgiving. A missed jump on a long course means going back, and on the harder maps that can happen many times in a row.

• Open rooms put you with players you do not know. If that matters, for example for a younger player, use a private room with a code.

• One of the nine maps is a zombie apocalypse. It is blocky and cartoonish, but it is worth knowing about before handing the game to a small child.
